Chrome hotel Kolkata opens KhanaSutra
25 Nov 2009

Kolkata-based Chrome Hotel recently launched Nouvelle Cuisine North Indian restaurant – KhanaSutra in the heart of the city at 226 AJC Bose Road, Chrome Hotel. Chrome hotel is a part of Chocolate Hotels Pvt Ltd – promoted by Hotel Polo Towers which owns the iconic Hotel Polo Towers in Shillong.
With KhanaSutra, Chrome is all set to extend the nations culinary landscape. Acclaimed by Sanjay Puri, the interiors with their uber modern interpretation of the classic Indian woodwork and 'jharokhas', all of which is subtly lit from inside envelope the diners with a taste less ordinary.
Deval Tibrewalla, CEO of Chocolate Hotels Pvt Ltd (the company that owns Chrome Hotel) says "We want to challenge the notion that Indian haute cuisine can only be created using age old recipes and traditional service styles. Indian food, like any other cuisine should constantly evolve and adapt. The trick is to produce and design Indian cooking methods with a decidedly European design template which produces a distinctive layering of flavours."
KhanaSutra is Indias first Nouvelle Cuisine North Indian restaurant with two chefs studio gazebos that are inspired by the royal Jharokhas where kings would dine, a vast and (sinful) Connoisseur menu (15 courses), Guerdion service. The restaurant hosts a selection of menus including Festival showcases and the stunning Gastronomic six-course feast.
Anson Jose, general manager, Chrome Hotel adds " We want to take modern Indian cooking to a new level using a very intelligent approach to being both modern and Indian"
