STARBUCKS to begin offering instant coffee in Japan
04 Mar 2010

04 Mar 2010
Starbucks will begin selling its branded instant coffee in Japan. Starbucks Via Coffee Essence is made from high-quality Arabica beans with no additives or preservatives, offering Columbian or Italian Roast varieties. Both will be sold in packages of three individual servings for JPY300 (USD3.34) and 12 servings for JPY1,000 (USD11.14).

The new product is expected to be successful, counting on the fact that the least expensive cup of coffee at a Starbucks outlet costs JPY290 (USD3.22), so consumers may prefer having Starbucks coffee in their homes.
